Reaching the Cove
There is no direct road to Butterfly Beach. You must negotiate a boat ride with the fishermen at Palolem or Agonda (typically βΉ1,000β1,500 for a return trip). For the highly adventurous, there is a challenging 2-hour trek through the jungle canopy from Palolem, though it is completely unmarked and requires a local guide.
The boat ride itself is spectacular, hugging the rugged coastline and often encountering pods of dolphins along the way.
Nature and Seclusion
Because of its isolated nature, Butterfly Beach has absolutely no infrastructure. You must bring all your own water, food, and shade. At low tide, the beach is wide and sandy; at high tide, the water reaches almost to the tree line. It is arguably the most romantic spot in Goa for a secluded sunset.
