The Turtle Conservation Zone
Between October and March, female Olive Ridley turtles arrive at night to lay their eggs. The northern portion of the beach is fenced off by the forest department to protect these nests. Visitors can sometimes witness the miraculous hatching process under the guidance of forest rangers, usually late at night or early morning.
Absolute Serenity
The waters at Galgibaga are remarkably clean, though swimming can sometimes be tricky due to a steeper drop-off and occasional rip currents. The real draw is the absolute silence. You can walk the entire length of the beach and encounter perhaps five other people.
