Vagator BeachGoa — Beach Guide 2026

Vagator Beach is visually striking, defined by its dramatic red laterite cliffs that look out over the Arabian Sea. Located just north of Anjuna, Vagator is actually split into two main sections: Big Vagator (the wider, main beach) and Little Vagator, also known as Ozran Beach, which is tucked into a cove accessed by steep stairs down the cliffside. Vagator perfectly balances stunning natural scenery with high-end beach clubs and is the global capital of Psytrance music, with legendary venues like HillTop set back from the shore.

TL;DR — QUICK SUMMARY

A scenic, cliff-backed beach that serves as the luxurious and bohemian party capital of North Goa.

Editor's Note

Vagator feels distinctly more dramatic than the flat beaches down south. The red laterite cliffs creating a backdrop to the sea give it a uniquely rugged, cinematic beauty.

The Dramatic Cliffs & Coves

The sweeping views from the cliffs above Vagator are arguably the best in Goa. You can sip a cocktail at world-famous cliffside venues while watching the sun sink into the ocean. Below, the beach is interspersed with black volcanic rocks.

Little Vagator (Ozran) requires a minor hike down steep steps, but it rewards you with a more secluded, bohemian vibe. Here you'll find the famous Shiva face carved into a rock by a tourist years ago, which has now become a local landmark.

💡
Pro Tips
🌊The walk down to Ozran beach can be slippery; wear decent footwear.
🐚The cliffs are perfect for sunset photography, but stay safely away from the fragile edges.
🪸Swimming is decent, but watch out for submerged rocks near the headlands.

The Psytrance & Beach Club Hub

Vagator is home to Goa's legendary party scene. The HillTop venue (just inland from the beach) hosts massive Sunday parties and international festivals. Meanwhile, the cliffs are lined with upscale lifestyle venues and Mediterranean-style beach clubs offering a more luxurious sunset experience.
